First and foremost professionals are known for their specialized knowledge. They have made a personal commitment to their profession and to developing, improving and keeping up to date with latest research in the area of practice. A nother quality of professionalism ââ¬â caring, respect and concern for people and their values.Because a dietetic practice involves customer service, an understanding of individual differences is important for effective practice. Furthermore, professionals are must strictly follow to the ethical standards of professional practice. The Standards of Practice (SOP) and Standards of Professional Performance are guide and tools for dietetic professionals and provide them with a plan for evaluating, implementing and adjusting work performance in different areas of practice.
